Credits Creators: Various Creators, Story by Charles M. Schulz or Jason Cooper Grade: 8 The Peanuts Friends Forever 2016 Special consists of three stories. "Dress to Depress" is about Peppermint Patty facing a dress code, Sally Brown in "Reading" has Sally giving a report and "Daisy Hill Days" is focused on Snoopy facing the loss of the Daily Hill Puppy Farm.
Out of the three, the first two are the strongest, no surprise as they were stores by Shulz Himself. "Dress to Depress" has Patty rebelling against a dress code where she has to wear a dress. Not finding any supporters she goes it alone. This is classic Patty, and having Snoopy as her "lawyer" just adds to the humor in this story, even when it is very serious for Patty.
Sally has to do a report on reading, and she does it like she typical does, with sass, mixed-up facts, and a bit of rebelling tone against doing this. Hilarious from first panel to last.
"Daisy Hill Days" has Snooping helping a bird migrate and finding out the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm where he grew up is being torn down to make way for a mall. He tries to enlist the support of the other Peanuts gang and his brothers and sisters. The story didn't quite hang together as well as the first two and while it was neat to see a little of the lives of his siblings, it was like just a little too much plot in an otherwise fine tale.
Despite the issues with the last story, it is well worth recommending for all.
