Sugar gets Goldie and her dad fired. Goldie tries to tell Walter about leads in the case regarding Mr. Ludwig, but Walter's been drugged! Goldie gives chase and doesn't give up even when things get really dangerous. Thankfully, she has another friend who can help.

Wow. Things escalated quickly! There's even a car chase that ends with a cliff accident and a helicopter! I'm surprised at the international espionage aspects of this comic; I was expecting something a bit tamer. I feel like I shouldn't complain because it's very exciting to read ... but it's also rather unbelievable given the setting and that Goldie is a minor. And why did Sugar have rope in the trunk of her car? That seems convenient for Goldie and a little weird for Sugar (though, admittedly, we don't know her very well yet). The scene with Winston getting drugged is very well done, and I like how it sets the chase in motion.

The firing of both Goldie and her dad seems excessive. I would say there's probably an unspoken threat of lawsuit prompting this excessiveness, except that it's clear the head boss wouldn't have even known about Goldie borrowing a guest's car if it weren't for Sugar (the boss's daughter). It's clearly personal (issue #2 let us know in no uncertain terms that Sugar is flat-out jealous of Goldie and her driving abilities), and Sugar knows that getting them both fired will hurt Goldie even more. Hope Larson certainly did a good job of writing a character we can despise and who isn't the main villain; that makes the story richer, even if it's a bit frustrating to read.

I love Goldie's crush on Diane! It's kind of an admiration-infatuation, which is really cute given their age difference. I like how Diane offers to help so easily and she goes along with the "accomplice" thing.

The action scenes and plot movement in this issue will have readers glued to the page, and possibly ignoring any issues they had with the previous two issues (like nailing down a time period setting).
