Red and Woof traverse the Dark Forest and try to escape the Think Police, so they can live as friends rather than enemies. They tangle with Punzel, Woof's "brother", and a bridge troll.

I'm also up for a well-done twist on fairy tales. There are aspects of this that remind me of Ever After High, mostly with the Brothers Grimm and how all the characters are locked into their roles ... or else. So it's a bit darker in general, though Red's personality keeps things a bit brighter. The Think Police is an intriguing twist; it's also rather scary, which is enhanced by having them ride dragons. I'm excited to see Red as an actual child here, and that there is more than one Wolf.

My favorite part, hands down, is Punzel. She's terrifying in all the most perfect, twisted ways. I love her fiery hair and that it has prehensile functions as well as working a bit like a spider's web. I like the font for her speech and how it conveys she's a little crazy. And I like that Red pities Punzel. She sees past her faults and can find a reason for Punzel going crazy in the first place -- and it reiterates how important it is for Red and Woof to avoid the Think Police! My second favorite part is how Red negotiates with the troll, followed by the troll refusing passage to Mister Grimm.

I love the coloring, especially how it handles differences in light and shadow. The art style is the right balance of cutesy and creepy.

While this may not be the most wowing twist on fairy tales, it's worth checking out at least for Punzel's role, which bumps this up to an 8 out of 10.
