Goldie and Cheryl find a body on the beach -- an astronaut! After taking the woman to the hospital, NASA and the FBI show up, but something's not right. Goldie accidently steps on Cheryl's dream in the process.

This begins a new story arc, and it's a powerful start. I love that it balances the high-stakes drama of the unusual with interpersonal drama; it makes it relatable. One of my favorite parts is when Goldie is finally able to put herself in Cheryl's shoes and understand how she hurt her friend. This type of situation is one many people will relate to, including Cheryl's reaction (even if you read it and have the same initial reaction as Goldie). I hope Cheryl gets another shot to make herself seen before this arc is over. My other favorite part is the reunion between Agent Ladner and Walter, including Goldie's reaction and friendly teasing of Walter. I'm sure this relationship adds layers to the story that we'll just have to wait to see how they reveal new angles or twists.

Throughout this issue, we get a very good feel for Goldie's personality due to her expressions, body language, and the way she interacts with others; I dare say it's a better feel for her than I got in the first four issues combined. We get to see her at work, on the case, complaining to her significant other, and fighting with a friend, among other things. It's realistically rich and complex.

The astronaut angle is intriguing, especially since Cheryl's dream is to become one. There's a strangeness to it beyond the obvious, including a detail Cheryl noted. The cliffhanger ending really ups the weirdness level, and definitely hooks me for reading more.
