Goldie's first day on Sugar's pit crew makes a good impression. She also discovers one saboteur ... just not the one Sugar was hoping for.

I'm loving the scenes between Goldie and her girlfriend Diane (though I'm still trying to figure out Diane's age, as I thought she was a lot older). They had one kiss in the previous issue, and two in this one, with some fun and subtle flirting and PDA. I love that Diane helps Goldie spy and enjoys doing so; it keeps her involved rather than just providing a ride. Her involvement in this issue also keeps Goldie tied to the world outside this case and her new job that seems to be taking all her time. It's a really long day with scenes lasting well into the night.

I'm not sure what Sugar's problem is with Goldie. Goldie may be a temporary member of the pit crew and there partially to solve a mystery, but that doesn't mean she should avoid trying to fit in. In fact, I was surprised that Goldie didn't point out that she needs to get "chatty" with the other crew members in order to earn trust and learn valuable information that could lead to solving the mystery!

There's a wonderful variety of women on Sugar's pit crew -- and it's all women -- skin tones, physical builds, age, etc! It's a lot of new characters to get to know in one issue, but it's handled well. It makes sense that there would be several new characters, partially to introduce possible suspects. I like that there was a separate sabotage situation. The reasoning behind it makes sense, but sabotage is a rather extreme way of dealing with it. Of course that means the initial suspect that Sugar had when she came to Goldie for help is a dead end.

The issue ends with a cliffhanger of Sugar driving off (upset about something regarding Goldie, but it's hard to tell what), and Goldie notices too late that there's a sabotage to the car. It's an emotional, but also a confusing, end to this issue.
