Ennay and Bud call for the largest Vespers to date, but in the process they realize the truth. Bud merges with Ennay, and together they make Cantik music that reaches people's souls and shows them the truth about the godless and the religious folks in charge.

This final issue wraps up beautifully, nudging things back to a better way of life without getting any answers ... or needing them. Admittedly, I'm definitely curious for some answers about the thing under the sheet and how it could be used to give Ennay a god, but those answers are not relevant to this particular arc; it was just used as a point to move the plot.

I love how rich this world is. It just got a whole lot grander with the reveal of truth during the Vespers. I don't want to spoil it, but it's definitely something we haven't seen before. It's an emotionally heavy-handed issue as well, at least for the characters (for me, it's a bit removed; I understand rather than feel the emotions). I love how it's the music that truly moves people -- moves them to the point of dancing with and kissing the person next to them, regardless of gender. It's beautiful and powerful, and it sways all but the ones who are the most corrupt (financially and religiously).

The young girl Shaper plays an important role, embracing her own skills. It's even sweeter that she gets a bit of truly righteous vengeance on Benotti by learning and sharing the special traits of his god ... and that Ennay can turn around and use it to help the two he just called the Vespers on.

This mini-series is magical, emotional, rich, and unusually relevant to the world as we know it today. The lesson it leaves us with is one that all the artists out there should already know and understand. This series should absolutely be on your must-read list.
