Elementary sleuths Q and Ray are on another case. In this volume they try to discover who swapped a valuable autographed baseball with a fake.

I found this particular volume of Q and Ray a little different than the other two. It seemed a lot more focused on educating the reader than on the case itself. We spend half of this volume on two things: Q joining a baseball team and idolizing a historic women's team, and Ray learning about forgery and telling Q how to spot a fake.

Baseball and forgery both come into play in the plot, but the crime itself felt more of an afterthought. Not necessarily a bad thing, as it was actually nice to see Q into sport and Ray talking about the finer points of forgery and they do still solve the case with smarts and persistence.

A little overbalance with the educational component, but still a fun one to read.
