Credits ISBN: Writer: Cryti Elle Bourquin Penciler: Yishan Li Grade: 7 Paradox Girl is a young woman with the ability to travel back and forth in time. The result of this ability is that there are often multiple Paradox Girls existing simultaneously. Paradox Girl is known by no other name and she herself does not know exactly who or what she is, having gone back and tried to fix many aspects of her life.
This ability is handy, however, as when faced with villainy, she can go back and for in time to defeat them. She often partners with Axiom Man, who has unique way of speaking in addition to standard superhero like flying an super strength.
The novel is comprised of a number of mini-stories, basically all with a comedic bent. Paradox Girl fights a dinosaur, gets trapped by her addition to particular kind of snack and plays several characters at once in a Bond-parody story.
It's all rather light and fluffy and Paradox Girl is perpetually upbeat, but not in an annoying way.
My favorite story by far is when Paradox Girl notices a sad old man and sits down and talks to him. He recounts his life and the significance of his watch, which was given to him by his father. Paradox Girls attempts to help him and her sweet nature with him made this my favorite story out of the bunch and illustrated the promise and peril of Paradox Girl's very existence.
Paradox Girl is an enjoyable read, just don't think too hard about it or try to figure the paradoxes out.
