Credits Grade: 6 Eve is an agent-for-hire with short-term memory loss and only a week to live at a time! Can she unravel her own mystery while completing the jobs that keep her alive? Bonus story: Eve as a reporter who dreams of being the secret spy we just read about.Ah, the memory-loss-assassin-for-hire story. This type of story almost seem trite now, but I can't help being curious how this one will try to be different. Eve seems interesting enough, especially with her notes / journal to herself, which works as good narration during this first issue. I like her design, including her periwinkle hair. I like that she gravitates towards the same things over and over, which means her core self is still there, even though she doesn't remember who that is. I am enjoying her attitude, general outlook on things, and how she handles herself in a fight and with a gun. I'm glad we get a glimpse of two different organizations. The first is trying to find out more about the "e.v.e. project". I love the deadly technology that vets bidders and protects the project; it's impressive, futuristic, and gruesome. The second is the one in charge. Frankly, I'm surprised they are conducting any part of the business in person, let alone the bidding process, especially after seeing the previously-mentioned technology. "Eve Stranger Ace Reporter" is a fun extra story that I hope continues to tie into the main story / making us guess which version of Eve is the real one. It's full of some rather pointed humor with regard to social and pop culture. I like that it has a simpler, more cartoony arty style as well; it complements the humorous aspect of it. While I can't say this comic overly impressed me, I did enjoy it and would be willing to give issue #2 a read to see where it goes from here. Written: June 9, 2019
