The Art Squad starts to fall apart, but through some big pushes ends on a high note with almost everyone finding their way.

Welp, this series is over and it never really got going. I'm not sure what the point was. It's effectively a slice-of-life series, but what's really annoying is there's really not a main character. Ranmaru only sort of ties things together, so I'm left confused by him suddenly "finding himself" and taking on Goda's role at the end. I guess I'm glad the characters ended up happy, but I mostly feel let down that there wasn't more getting to know them or seeing them really grow. It's all rather rushed and on the surface.

This volume strongly focuses on Ruka as she pushes herself harder than ever and ends up gaining the support of her mother and brother against her aunt. It's a well done arc, especially with Goda's supporting role and confession.

I'm unpleasantly surprised that Soh gave up on Izumi to fall for her cousin, Ranmaru. And Izumi's story gets zero closure.

Overall, this series floundered from beginning to end, spreading itself too thin over too large a cast of characters for this short a series.
