A flashback shows the truth of Emily's ex "leaving her", which she finds out later in the issue. Grandma drugs one bad guy and uses his gun to take matters into her own hands (I love her so much). The groom takes a bullet for Emily, Emily comes up with an escape plan for her and her ex and his gang, and the hostages use the wedding gifts as make-shift weapons to fight back. Emily reacts, letting her true feelings show to one person, negating her previous escape plan.

I love that the ex gains some redemption, especially since it's clear that Emily isn't over him. He may be a bad guy (notorious robber), but he did the right thing when it came to protecting her. It does make me wonder about his choice to try to rob her now, though. Emily's true feelings that are revealed come out in an unfortunate way, given the circumstances. However, at least some of these feelings were going to cause certain actions anyway, given what we saw in the first issue, so, all things considered, it works out well to this point anyway.

Grandma -- easily my favorite character! Seriously, I would read a whole series about her! She's a clever badass -- she's a war veteran who clearly doesn't take crap from anyone and isn't afraid of anything or of doing what others won't to get the job done.

I'm surprised by the shooting for a few reasons, including that the groom was prepared, and that and Emily would have died if not for him. When it happened I couldn't fathom why the creative team did that, but by the end of the issue, we know why, and it's important for character development.

Speaking of character development, there are some interesting and terrible (and thus hilarious) bits with other characters. I also love seeing them use the wedding gifts as weapons, though there were some gifts that were not typical, and thus were more useful for this.

Things have reached a critical point, and I like that I can't see yet how it will end! The crashed wedding and heist combo is really working wonderfully for a terribly funny and somehow relatable read.
