Emily speaks with Jesse, and he's able to win her heart for real. Emily has a plan to get the robbers out and end things as peaceably as possible, which includes a rushed wedding ceremony.

I love Grandma's comments about needing weed money and her role in the disappearance of the jeweled necklace the robbers were searching for. But then, there it is, the flaw in Grandma; she's racist. It's not unexpected. given the era she grew up in, and Jesse handles her comment well. Another character makes a similar offhand racist comment. These aren't necessary to the plot, so it's interesting that this is the bit of character building for support characters that the writer decided to go with. In fact, why have a black man wear a white mask and a white man wear a black mask (which is what led to the second comment)?

There is a wonderfully-timed kiss between two women. It fits that supporting character (the other woman comes out of nowhere from the background of wedding attendees, which adds to the humor of the situation), plus I like how it's used to poke fun at a sleazy guy.

I am quite happy with the happy ending. It's some good writing to wrap things up so satisfactorily, maintain action and humor, and give it a happy ending. I appreciate how Jesse's visions for his future together with Emily are what alleviate her fears and cements her choice. I love that Emily is the one with the plan, after all her uncertainty and the thrill that came with her ex. I almost feel bad for the police, as they're just doing their job ... but they also fail at doing their job as they take the hostages' word as to what happened to the robbers. What really happened to the robbers is well-played and funny, though I am surprised those supplies (trying so hard not to spoil it) were at this church in the middle of nowhere. And as for the jeweled necklace, you'll just have to read to find out, but it's good.
