Nanase gets drunk in front of co-workers and gets upset about her stolen first kiss. A rival doctor from Tendo's past starts working in their section of the hospital, causing trouble as he starts courting Nanase. Nanase gets a stalker.

The drunken scene is extremely uncomfortable to read. Of course, there are cultural differences, but I did not like this section. Why is it important that this private matter be made public (and in an extra-embarrassing way)?

There's a wonderful hurt-comfort chapter where Tendo has a fever. Not only does Nanase support him at work, but she helps him home and into bed. I love that even when he tells her to leave, his body betrays him in a small way that keeps her there.

Dr. Kisugi and Dr. Tendo were classmates, and they have nothing positive to say about each other's history with women. Kisugi definitely gives Nanase bad vibes (and me too!), so I am glad to see her at least acknowledging that voice in the back of her head. I don't trust him. Also, why is he going after Nanase? Is it just because of her closeness to Tendo? I like how some of Kisugi's actions to help Nanase and get closer to her, actually push her closer to Tendo. I also like when Nanase and the other nurses completely ignore Kisugi as he pesters Nanase to stay with him during the stalker incident.

Kisugi makes comments about Tendo being possessive and trying to "own" Nanase as he "owned" someone in the past. At first it just seems like cruel words, but Tendo is shook by them. And then he "marks" Nanase with a hickey. I'm so upset. I was actually kind of liking his jealousy in that scene, at least for drama's sake. But to learn that what appeared to be an intimate kiss on the neck, was really him asserting dominance, spoils it. It also seems out of character for him, but we don't really know much about him.

The manga-ka then introduces a patient who stalks Nanase. This seems like an attempt to contrast Dr. Tendo's possessiveness with a more dangerous possessiveness, as if to say Dr. Tendo's is okay. But I'm swayed by the seriousness of the stalker situation and his desire to protect her ... and how innocently he crawls into bed with her to pass out from exhaustion after work. The volume ends on a massive cliffhanger, which definitely has me hoping Tendo will swoop in to rescue Nanase (though I'm worried it might be Kisugi instead).

This is definitely a romantic drama like a soap opera. It's that kind of angst and interpersonal challenges. Fun for a read, but we'll see if it turns into something more serious.
