(Attention! There may be a couple spoilers in here!)

Okay, you all say it with me now! DEAD DEAD DEMON'S DEDEDEDE DESTRUCTION, volume 8! Best and longest manga title ever. Okay, well maybe not; we will have to go fact check that one later on. But nevertheless, it's out on the 23rd! Time to go find it or call your local comic book store to reserve a copy.

This volume is pretty spectacular as it contains a lot of backstory of two of our favorite ladies: Ouran and Kadode. Remember how it got mentioned that they came across one of the aliens first? Here is the story that you have been waiting for, especially since its Ooba who starts the story on its way with his alien technology and Makoto who we do not get to hang out with much. They go into Ouran's memories of when she was 10.

A lot of this story concentrates on how the two characters interact with other students and their friends. There is a lot of stigma over who to talk to, who not to talk to, and what to do when you are not socializing. They overcome this stigma by doing their own thing and deciding to become friends.

The girls decide to hide the alien in a giant Isobeyan doll. Once it is established that the girls will not hurt the alien, it gives the two girls some pieces of its technology to use. It gives them ways to translate what it is saying. It gives whirlycopter things to fly. It gives them pills to help deal with their social anxieties. It gives Kadode a wand to take care of whatever problem she has in her way (spoiler: it does not go well).

The other interesting feature in this volume was how Inia Asano points out how much the Isobeyan manga paralleled the aliens and their technology. Is the author of Isobeyan one of the aliens, too?? It has been hinted at this whole time...maybe.

As in the past volumes, the art is incredible, the story telling flows perfectly, and every volume is a bit of a cliffhanger to the next one. This series is highly recommended!
