Nanase is severely hurt by a stalker -- enough so that Kairi promises to be her boyfriend, if she'll pull through! But that promise doesn't necessarily mean that he loves her, does it? So what can she do to make him fall in love with her? How will things go when Nanase and Kairi end up on a business trip together? When a new nurse-in-training comes along, will the girl prove a rival? And has Kisuri given up chasing Nanase?

I enjoy the art a lot, and there are some really sweet moments, but there are other times when it just feels over-the-top and silly. Kairi is a tsundere, but he also seems like an idiot, sabotaging a relationship he really does seem to want. That kind of character can certainly be appealing -- and there are times when Kairi is -- but he's frustrating as often as not. And a moment that could have been romantic is spoiled some by the fact that he's insulting Nanase as a means to say he chooses her. Not to mention that I feel like the whole hurt-by-a-stalker scenario, while it wasn't bad, also didn't live up to its full hurt-comfort potential, as Kairi is too emotionally constipated at this point. I did appreciate some cute moments of jealousy and frustration he had later in the volume, though.

As for Nanase, I like her well enough in general, but there's a point where she identifies herself as someone who will become whoever Kairi would fall in love with. That is very unappealing, the fact that she has no idea of self, other than a woman obsessed with this guy. It seems she was only studying to be a nurse because it would bring her closer to Kairi, not because she wants to help people! Thankfully, she's starting to like the work outside of her obsession with him. And while I was annoyed that she feels she needs to cook for him to have appeal as a girlfriend, at least she learned to cook from a guy, cutting down on the sexism.

And I'm impressed by Kisuri -- he's a good friend to Nanase, putting her feelings before his own and being supportive, even though she's choosing his rival! I want to see more male characters that won't just ignore or even be a jerk just because the girl they're interested in only sees them as a friend!

There's potential here, but I'm wary, as I did not care for how another series by the manga-ka, Happy Marriage?!, ultimately played out.
