Nico Bravo is an orphan boy working at Vulcan's Celestial Supply Shop on Celestina, which services gods and goddesses. Vulcan, the actual Greek God, raised Nico from a foundling. Nico's best friends are a unicorn named Buck and a Sphinx named Lula. The Supply Shop comes under attack by an evil god and it's up to Nico to help save the day and learn something amazing about himself.

I've never seen this kind of mashup of Egyptian, Greek, and Atlantean mythology and people before. It seemingly makes no sense, but it works in this universe and it is a blast. While Nico himself doesn't endear me at first, he is smart and keeps his cool despite the never-ending disasters that comes his way.

This is also the most action-packed story I've ever run across. Disasters and bizarre things happen almost on every page, but never to the point that it confuses you, there is clarity in the chaos and that impressed the heck out of me. The villains in this are a hoot, as incompetent (but still deadly) as Nico is competent, but it all evens out.

Despite being dropped into the middle of something, it didn't derail my enjoyment or understanding.
