Legoshi accepts the consequence of eating Louis' leg. He also reunites with his (komodo dragon) grandpa, Gosha. Gosha's backstory is filled in some, and tied to the current Beastar.

There are a couple chapters in here that seem random at first -- following herbivores out in the workforce. However, just as I really began to wonder why they were included, they were skillfully tied to the main storyline. They also provide perspectives on the world outside of school, specifically interactions between herbivores and carnivores in mixed workplaces, that really flesh out our understanding of this world. This includes meeting the current Beastar (a male horse), who definitely changes my understanding of what a Beastar is. And the fact that this Beastar is directly connected to Gosha makes things much more interesting now that Legoshi has ended up the way he has.

I am glad to see this story finally starting to address Legoshi's reptile ancestry (I was just lamenting the lack of this last volume!). I'm eager for more on the physiological side, but I'm thrilled with the little bones this volume tosses us. Also, the backstory is massively enlightening and pairs well against the reunion, especially since Legoshi is mature enough to voice his thoughts on some things that used to bother him. The ending still surprised me, and I'm now even more curious about what things Gosha will teach Legoshi now.

And talk about surprises -- I was not expecting Juno and Louis to be a thing! I mean, it makes more sense than either of them shipped with Legoshi, but still ....

This series has taken a big turn. Anywhere I thought the story might be going ... I no longer have a clue on. That said, I'm definitely very interested to see where Legoshi's story takes him next.
