AmeriManga is a collection of American manga titles. This issue contains the first part of Kouseki by Insomniac Machine, Soul Union by Jen Quick, Without Darkness by Beth Westmoreland, Last Ditch by Christopher Seaton, and Magical Pageant by Corin Wentworth. Each has something completely different to offer in storyline, and each is long enough to be satisfying.

Soul Union is definitely my favorite. The artwork is excellent, the plot is great, and the characters thus far are wonderful. There isn't anything not to like about this title. Kouseki is a samurai epic that shows wonderful potential. The artwork is quite good, and this is a nice introduction to the story. However, towards the end of it, there were a few plot twists thrown in that don't make much sense yet, but I'm sure will be developed further in issue #2. Without Darkness is another one I really liked. Elei is tough, sexy, deadly, and Scottish (a fact that proves amusing when she's drunk). This was another good introduction to the story and the characters, and I can't wait to see where Beth takes it. Last Ditch's art was not quite as impressive as the other stories, but it wasn't bad. This first part of it really begins with a bang too though I wish we knew more about the events leading up to this point — I'm sure it'll get explained though. And finally, there's Magical Pageant which is a four-page mini. It's cute and funny way to end this issue of AmeriManga.

It also comes with a poster of Warmth by Fred Gallagher!
