I had a smashing good time on the front row of Gallagher's Wet and Wild Tour. I definitely got wet, and it was a wild time for sure! The show was over two hours of side-splitting humor that ended with his signature watermelon smashing (and a bunch of other produce). I attended with my parents and my three brothers — one of which is now infamous. For more than half the show my brother Taylor was on stage with Gallagher; he was used as the straight man for Gallagher to bounce jokes and humor off of. Taylor is six feet tall and 13-years-old so he towered over Gallagher, and blew everyone away when he said he was 13. And the reason he was on stage in the first place? Gallagher began to talk about people wearing their pants below their butt and we were all laughing and pointing at Taylor, and in Gallagher's words (and ours too) "[he's] got no ass!" Having Taylor up their made it all the better.

As I pointed out, we sat on the front row, dead center ... and we chose not to cover up with plastic in any form. We were there to get messy and have fun — what's the point of going to see Gallagher live if you don't sit on the front row intending to get messy? Well, the fact that we did not cover up did not go unnoticed by Gallagher (I've never heard of anyone else not covering up, nor have I seen it on his tapes) so when it came time to smash produce he made sure to get us good — this included a gallon of red Kool-Aid-like drink with the opening of the jug aimed directly at us. My brother Cameron also got to go onstage, as did some other people, to smash produce after having cake smashed in their faces. I wish I had gone up there for that because they got to use the Sledge-O-Matic. I am jealous of my brothers, but it was so much fun to be there at all that I'm ok with not getting on stage (at least not at this show).

Before and after the show Gallagher was available to sign autographs and take pictures with fans. I had him sign a shirt I bought there, as well as the one I had on (which was white and thus very stained by the end of the evening — an autograph all its own). I had my picture taken with him before the show, so we're both clean in it.

I have loved watching Gallagher on TV and video for years; getting to see him live, and sitting on the front row, was a dream come true. I hope I get the opportunity to do so again, and perhaps next time I'll get to go on stage. Gallagher's show starts tame but gets raunchier as the night goes on, and he does swear some, but it is truly hilarious. Much of his stuff is so funny because it is true, and part of it is funny because it's him. If you have not seen Gallagher at all, you're really missing out on some good laughs, and if you love his stuff but haven't seen him live, that is an experience that's not to be missed!
