Credits Grade: 7 Kaoru has turned his back on his family and their ideals. Aoi came to the city seeking her betrothed, a man she never met, to question why he called the engagement off. Circumstances throw the two together and, after seeing a childhood picture of her fiancé, he realizes he was her betrothed. However, he's not really ready for marriage or, even, to reveal that he's the mysterious man she seeks. However, as the two spend more time together, Kaoru begins to develop feelings for Aoi ... then their troubles really begin. Now, besides dealing with his feeling for Aoi, Kaoru also has to deal with the other women living in Aoi's summer cottage, her caretaker, Miyabi, his American friend, Tina, and the bumbling Taeko.At first glance it's hard not to compare Ai Yori Aoshi to Love Hina. The concept of a young 18 year-old living with a ton of beautiful women, one of whom might end up being his future bride, is very similar to Keitaro's plight in Love Hina. If you're a fan of that anime, then you definitely should check out Ai Yori Aoshi, because it is almost the same type of humor. These are college students who are a lot like one might envision the typical US student ... they know how to work, but they also know how to paaaaaarty. There's a lot of partying going on and lots of temptation for Kaoru. Will he remain faithful and true for Aoi or will he give in to the temptation of Tina or Taeko? It's fun watching him struggle and inadvertently get into so much trouble. It's silly, mischievous, and highly entertaining.
