Credits Grade: 9 This DVD starts us off with a parody of sentai team shows like Power Rangers (only without zords). Yes indeed, our favorite civil servants get to fight for justice in a whole new way — that is, if they would stop over-reacting. Then, Menchi gets another shot at freedom when Director Shinichi Watanabe gives the OK for another animal episode. This is followed by a clip-by-clip overview of Pedro's story — complete with an afro parody of Dragonball Z! And last but not least a little fan service for us girls when a visual rocker ... um ... plays his guitar, and Excel has yaoi thoughts. Oh just watch it already! Despite not having as much of Excel and Hyatt in these episodes they are still side-splittingly funny!For the first time, I watched the entire DVD with the ADVNotes on. This was good and bad. It was good because it gives lots of neat info about puns, gags, and other "hidden" stuff. However, in order to use it AND read subtitles (or follow the fast-spoken English) you must sit with your curser on the pause button throughout the entire DVD. The pop-ups also block much of the animation when they start getting several going at once. It was informative but quite annoying. I would recommend watching it first without the ADVNotes and then with them — and yes, Excel Saga is good enough to watch twice in a row! There are also tons of extras so the fun lasts even longer. Excel Saga is off-the-wall funny and crazy. It's an anime lover's comic dream in which things get weirder and wilder just when you thought you'd reached the limit.
