This issue of Gold Digger is one of the best yet — full of kindness in the most unexpected places while still keeping the fighting and humor levels high. Dr. Diggers takes Tanya to her new "prison" where she can try to find the way she lost ... only time will tell if that pays off. Meanwhile, Luan and Mistress fight without reserve over Gar (though he is quite unaware). The ending is a shock, and that's what makes it so good.

Emotions are running high in this issue! Pain and determination, fear and compassion, all come across very clearly while realistically portraying the mixture as a bit confusing and overwhelming as it would be in real life. Fred Perry manages to show all of that with the expressions and body language he draws — and all while they are beating each other to a pulp! The fight scene itself is amazingly well choreographed and over-the-top. I didn't see the ending coming, and I loved it. Now I can't wait to see where Fred Perry takes this amazing series.

Thankfully this issue does not feature any multi-page "preview" for any other Antarctic Press American manga. Those take up valuable pages! There are a few pages of ads at the end, but that's normal. For $3.50 you need to run get this issue ... and then enjoy every colorful page of it.
