Thankfully, volume two is an improvement over volume one, but Gamerz Heaven is still nothing special. Kaito is your average videogame-playing teen who gets sucked into the gaming world literally. His friends Kawashima, Rio, and Ren follow to help him after he convinces them that it's real and that if he loses the boss from the game will cross over into the real world. With only one save left, the four gamers (plus the Navigator whom everyone else in the game is out to get since he's the key to the gate between worlds) play on in RPG style. The other characters are duplicates of people they know in real life adding another twist to the game. In this volume, they defeat the final boss (the fake/easy one used in so many games at the beginning) and work for armor and weapons. The fight an area boss and her troops, gain them as allies, and lose them to Lost Soul, a very mysterious player.

The art is fairly good, definitely lending itself to the comidic portions of the story. The battle scenes are lacking any real definition as to what's going on though. Mostly, I rolled my eyes at the comedy, wished for more from the battles and from Kaito, and sighed at such an unoriginal storyline. It's mediocre at best. I don't hate it, nor do I wish I'd never picked it up, but it's not something I'd spend my money on or try to read all of. Unless you really have a thing for computer game RPG-style stories where the real world and the digital world can be crossed physically, you should probably look elsewhere for a good read.
