Sakkara finishes her tale of how she became the demoness Purgatori to atone for her sin.

Okay, I had hoped with the last issue that I would find this series more palpabale than I had initially thought. Instead, I find my gorge rising again. Yes, Sakkara commited a heinous crime, but now we learn that her status as Purgatori was given to her by Aten, aka the Biblical "one true" god, on a mission to kill those who sin while she seeks atonement? (And of course wanting to have sex is a sin, apparently).

It's not the idea of the Biblical god being depicted as so cruel that upsets me, as I am not a follower of a Biblical faith; in fact, I do susbscribe to the notion that Aten is the basis for the biblical god, and he is depicted rather as I see him. It's the fact that this series has turned out to be about such things that makes me want to stop reading. (Remember, though, that I have recieved these books as promos, and would not have read them on my own in the first place.) The whole scenario is a bit messed up — a series about punishing the sins of the flesh has a the one delivering the punishment running around naked half the time? (I wonder if the writer agrees with the outlook of his Aten or not?) This is why I have a hard time seeing it as anything more than some illicit naughty-girl T&A for the boys in the clubhouse. I won't deny that Purgatori is a compelling character; I just can't stomach how she's treated. This isn't entertaining to me.
