Credits Grade: 8 Katou and Iwaki are leads in opposing drama series which keeps them busy and separate. Katou can't take it anymore so he hunts down Iwaki and takes him in the car. Then, Iwaki gets a new (male) manager that could mean big trouble for the couple. Iwaki in all seriousness sooths some of Katou's fears and concerns by making love to him. When Katou does a guest appearance as a dying patient for Iwaki's show, Iwaki gets truly frightened by the thought of losing Katou and needs some extra loving — but it comes a little rougher than he was expecting. There's also an extra little story at the end focusing on Nagisa Sawa and his transition from straight cop to cross-dressing, gay writer. Such a powerful little story with amazing insight into the emotions and reactions of Sawa and those around him.I don't care for the introduction of a new manager for Iwaki who is only introduced to cause a rift for the couple. They have enough problems — personal and public interfering with their love, life, and jobs without this little upstart. I didn't like him instantly .... though I suppose that means he makes for a good villain. We'll see .... Both guys take some interesting turns emotionally, especially as Iwaki gets frightened to tears and also is a serious lover and willing to challenge Katou's offhand comments about which part of Iwaki he really likes. But one of the things that really drives this manga, the parts that I really eat up, are the sex scenes. They are intense and vivid (and one should expect no less from former porn stars). Youka Nitta is able to draw these two in just the perfect pose to send her readers off the deep-end in adoration/lust. Embracing Love is full of confliction, high emotions, love, and hot sex — a manga worth lusting after. Written: February 26, 2007
