ISBN: 1-59697-013-8 Grade: 6 The Missing White Dragon contains 5 Asian folk/urban tales, each with a romantic twist! "The Missing White Dragon" has a human and a demon engaged to be married and in order to call it off they must find the missing dragon artifact - little do they know it connects them in an ironic way. "Hannya" is about a healer who saves a demon physically and spiritually and love blossoms. "Dispel Magic" is about a witch who's turning into a puppy and there's only one cure that her guy friend can provide. "The Romance of the Crying Thunder Sword" a girl steals her father's magic sword and uses it to help correct things caused by a demon - a demon she has grown irritatingly close to. And finally "A Magician's Proposal" has a magician trying to woo someone with magic but ending up getting what and who he deserves.
Each story has a similar enough feel and romance that they work well as a compilation, but they are unique enough to enjoy each separately. I am unfamiliar with these stories, but they are very enjoyable and with a nice twist at the end. Also, telling the stories in this format allows for all the good humor we get here. And the art is very pleasant too. Unlike some other compilations, each story's characters have a very unique appearance and wardrobe. Some artists are stuck with a certain "style" of character, but Park Young Ha creates several different ones that are all beautiful and fit with their personalities and story. If you like folk tales, romance, and a little magic then you will enjoy this collection.
