The Runaways have successfully completed the theft job the Kingpin gave them in issue #25, but they barely survive an explosion and now face the Punisher and an unidentified winged beast. The Runaways are considering betraying the Kingpin, but must find a way out. The item they stole proves to be the key to the way out of their situation. But it proves to put them in an entirely new situation that is more difficult than before.

The dialogue and characterizations that are Joss' strengths contine to win in this issue. We get some good moments with almost all of the characters, including the bad guys. Some things are seemingly falling into place, but others are a bit more confusing.

The biggest and perhaps only problem I have with this issue is the final page. There is a twist that happens, not entirely out of the blue, but it takes the comic in a direction that I don't think I like.

A fairly solid issue, but with a possibly bad new direction.
