ISBN: 1-59741-027-6 Grade: 7 Milfeulle falls out of contact suddenly while giving an update and a warning. The Angel Troupe has to get to the bottom of things and now they must also rescue the stolen Nano-Nano and Brave Heart from Anise, a treasure hunter who has her very own Emblem Frame (space ship?). To help pay off her debt, and because she seems to have a good heart (she was put up to stealing their friend), they decide to make her part of the Angel Troupe. Meanwhile things are getting shakey and weird between Apricot and Kazuya - no thanks to Tequilla's intervention. And what has Forte done?!
Well I'm rather impressed. Galaxy Angel II has made a drastic improvement from the first volume (which I graded a 3). There's actually some kind of story going on now with a mystery surrounding Milfeulle's cut-off, Anise's Emblem Frame, and the little bit we see of Forte at the end. There's some history given between Forte and Lily C Sherbet and the other Angels, which is both interesting and plot-important. Yes, most of this volume does focus on the developing relationship between Kazuya and the man-hating Apricot as well as Kazuya and Tequilla/Kahlua (and it's a bit difficult to say if she's trying to snag him for her own or get him hooked up with Apricot or a little of both as she's so duel-minded). The art is still a bit generic, but not going chibi-crazy like the last volume makes a huge difference. And it's still just fluff romantic comedy, but at least now there's some real stuff going on to keep it interesting and moving. I'm ipressed with the turnaround and am actually looking forward to volume three now to see what's going on with Forte and Lily!
