At the start of volume 2 of Reborn, toddler-assassin Reborn decides to add a new recruit to the Tsuna mob 'family'. He sets his sights on Takeshi, one of the few students to befriend Tsuna. Takeshi passes the test Reborn puts him through, although Takeshi believes it is all a game.

Following the recruiting of Takeshi is a series of stories involving two assassins, Bianchi, who loves Reborn and is skilled in poisoning, and Lambo, a fellow toddler hit man from a rival mafia clan who sometimes morphs as a teenager.

Volume 2 is an improvement in some ways and worse in others. There is a good deal more action and plot in the second volume than in the first. What suffers is the character of Reborn himself. He seems to be no longer a mafia assassin, but some kind of genie. The whole mafia wasn't that strong a plot element anyway, but they get further away from it in this.

A bit better, but also a bit worse. A mixed review.
