ISBN: 1-4215-1015-4 Grade: 8 Cain crosses the secret society of Delilah when he attemtps to stop a massacre. Lord Gladstone is up to much more than it appears, especially when he tries to hypnotize Cain and has a young boy pose as his daughter (fetist-esque too!). The last chapter is a nursery rhyme plays out during a fateful carriage ride: "Solomon Grundy's Sunday" which plays out quite nicely and has Cain as an interesting "outside" participant.
This volume is full of mystery and suspense! The whole affair with Lord Gladstone had me guessing and wondering till the very end how Cain was going to get out of this situation let alone stop the massacre - and I wasn't disappointed in the creative twist that unveiled. I adore the combination of such dark mysteries with such beautiful art. The fine gothic details, powerful eyes, and highly expressive faces nearly make me swoon. It's this caliber of art that makes manga such a treat to read - even if you couldn't understand the words! Just gorgeous. For those who love a good gothic story with breath-taking art Godchild is a must read.
