Once is a very simple story. 'Guy' (no name is ever given) is a street musician who plies his trade when he has free time working at his father's repair shop.

One evening, while singing his own compositions, he meets 'Girl' who praises his efforts.

They soon get to talking and realize they have music in common, as he is budding singer/songwriter, while she plays the piano. Together they find they match perfectly musically, collaborating on songs throughout the movie. As we following their relationship, we find out more about their lives and their dreams.

Their continued collaborations leads to 'Guy' making the first step in realizing his dream of becoming a full-time musician while 'Girl' also makes the first step in resolving her own difficult sitation while perfecting her own music/writing skills.

The ending is bitter as well as very sweet. The music is good, very meaningful and from the heart.

A deceptively simple movie with great richesness to it.
