Kiyoharu Togawa is a young man, a member of a wheelchair basketball team. As this volume opens, Kiyoharu's team is suddenly disbanded. Kiyoharu is then suddently offered a chance to play on Japan's national wheelchair basketball team. It's these two events that cause him to reflect on how he got here.

I have to give major props to Mr. Inoue on this manga. Disabilities such as Kiyoharu's are not depicted in manga, if at all and in such a realistic way. While the characters didn't touch me deeply, they are strong, compelling characters. The drama, plot and emotion all meshed very well. The artwork isn't fancy, but the simple, straightforward drawings is the perfect match for the subject. The only thing I didn't like was that people sweating heavily during the wheelchair games look like they have buckets of water pouring over them, and it was aesthetically unappealing and distracting.

A solid manga about a tough topic.
