Following Return to Wonderland and Beyond Wonderland, Calie must now return to her old house and step back into the realm of madness she only seeks to be rid of. The fiends of Wonderland have taken her baby girl! She must follow them through the looking glass to save her child and once and for all escape.

This first preview issue only has nine pages of actual story, but it's only $1.99 and has some nice extras. We see Calie arrive at her old house - with amusing postings on the "For Sale" sign. She arms herself with a killer ax and a big kitchen knife. We see haunting memories floating around her, egging her on, and her dark reflection beckons. It's a nicely staged intro that sets the whole tone and mood of this upcoming series. There's a page from the mental hospital about her "progress" and release. Then, there are several pages of character bios. This is extremely useful is, like me, you're jumping into this story here, or you just need a refresher as to where everyone stands going into the new story arc. All the anagrams of Alice's name are a bit confusing and a little too forced. I can see the reasoning behind doing that, but it gets a bit trite and silly. I absolutely love the depiction of the Jabberwocky! And having him rule wonderland is an interesting use of this creature. The suicide king is quite effectively freaky. And I like the use of people from the real world to feed and become characters/minions of Wonderland, making Wonderland more of a living entity itself.

The art is excellent. Good body mechanics too. My only complaint is the gratuitous butt shot as she's walking through the mirror. Squaring off like that is a disadvantage in fighting. She would have been better off leading with one side (which would have given us both butt and breast in the image for those who want the butt shot). I gave it a 6 because I was hoping for a little more story than I got. The character info is wonderful to have, but can be gleaned elsewhere at this point. However, the story is off to a good start so come August we'll be in the thick of it I'm sure.
