Bardock: The Father of Goku is just what it says. It's a one-shot disc giving the history of Goku's father Bardock at the time when Goku was born, Frieza destroyed planet Vegita, and Goku was sent to earth. Bardock was given the ability to see the future by an enemy — a power that is can be a blessing or a curse. He can do nothing to prevent the destruction of his own people, but he does also get to see his son grow up as an unusual and powerful warrior and become the one who can stop Frieza!

This disc has been digitally remastered so the quality is superb. The colors are nice and bright and every bit of blood is left in. If you're previously familiar with DBZ you'll more than likely want to watch the English dub as those actors do a good job and fit the characters well. The original Japanese actors all sound goofy and high-pitched — not like warriors at all. This disc is a must have for any DBZ fan. It is an interesting past side-story that actually shines some light on characters like Frieza and Vegita as well. If you're not familiar with the series you might want to become familiar first as it can be a little confusing with all the visions of the future and interactions with those visions. It's a good watch and fairly serious for DBZ, but it's definitely a disc for a fan.
