Translator: Grade: 7 The History of Trunks is a one-shot disc showing the future as Trunks and Gohan knew it. All of Earth's heroes are dead, and Gohan is soon to follow them as daily life has become a battle against Androids 17 & 18. Trunks learns to become a Super Saiyan, and he travels back in time to save Goku and his own time. This future (or history) becomes an alternate reality after Trunks goes back in time and the main story continues on a different path.
Fans of the series will enjoy this extra bit of story; it answers so many questions the main series doesn't answer — what was life like? How did Trunks learn to become a Super Saiyan? How is this 17 & 18 different from the ones in the other timeline? What it doesn't answer is how Gohan and Trunks (and the rest of humanity) survived for so many years with the Androids destroying them for fun every single day. I know they need time to grow and mature and for Bulma to build the time machine, but seriously how did they survive? This disc has been digitally remastered so collectors and fans will really be able to enjoy it as it was meant to be seen. This particular story is very dark, sad, and violent (in a slightly different way than the rest of the series). Even the humor surrounding 17 & 18 is macabre. It's a good addition if you're getting all of the DBZ series, but new watchers wont have a clue what's going on. I also recommend watching the English dub as the sub, especially on this disc, takes something away from the seriousness of the situation.
