ISBN: 9781421532035 Grade: 6 So what do you do when your family loses its fortune, you have to fire all your servants, open a noodle business and send all your family to work? You hope that they don't get your former servants as bosses is what you do!
Unfortunately, that isn't the case for Choko Kuze. She gets hired as an office worker with an overbearing and sexually harassing boss. It doesn't take long for her to find out that her boss is actually her favorite servant, Cha-Chan, when he calls her "milady".
The couple turn their situation into an awkward romance with a little help from Cha-Chan's cross-dressing friend, Suou. Cha-Chan is the crazy Jekyll and Hyde boss, and this leaves Choko never quite knowing which side of him, in or out of work, she will be dealing with. No, this does not sound like it could be the most stable of relationships, but it is interesting to watch when Cha-Chan gives in from time to time and lets her take command of their roles.
I am not too sure how this is going to end up — I think it's actually more of a battle of the sexes than it is of role-reversal. The weight between them is extremely uneven and in favor of the male being stronger than the female in most of the situations. I am curious if this will end up more balanced in the rest of the series.
The art in this book is beautiful and I bet it would be completely amazing in color. Its explicit content rating comes from the adult situations in the book and the language. Surprisingly, it has no nudity.
Worth a glance if you are into strange role-reversal situations and a slightly abusive, but well told story. Will Choko be strong enough to make her situation work?
