ISBN: 9781427814258 Grade: 7 Strange stars are seen in the sky by Takeru and Ryou and they go to investigate. Ryou finds the source and a beautiful mystery girl in the forest where the star fell. Fortunately we are blessed by said mystery girl not being a sex-crazed alien, unfortunately, we are not saved from the fact she's naked. Not that there is much to be saved about an eyeful of bouncing female parts.
This manga was inspired by the anime from Gainax, who you may or may not know are the creators of Neon Genesis Evangelion. I am wondering if all of the fan-play went to their heads and they decided to just skip the imagination of their audience and went straight for the nudity of their characters instead.
So enter four characters: the two Earth school friends, and yet another star falls from the sky so that Takeru can have a stargirl of his own. The girls have to be taught everything and luckily, they learn fast.
After the first clue of Ryou's new stargirl (who he names Hikari) being an alien, the second big one is the weird tentacle monster that tries to kill her soon after she and Ryou meet for the first time. The causes the first clue that Ryou might be an alien, too: he grows a giant blade out of one of his arms and uses it to slay the monster to save Hikari.
Definitely some weird things going on here in this book! Ashita Morimi's artwork is beautiful to look at and follow. I especially love the characters' expressions. They have the large manga eyes and little mouths which make the stereotype, but all parts are used for expression which I think some artists forget about because they are too busy worrying about whether dialog or even storyline will go with their character's actions.
The rating of Mature is definitely deserved because of adult and suggestive situations and plenty of female (and a little male) nudity is involved. This is a strange story, indeed!
