Dragon Ball Z fans will really want to buy every volume of this Dragon Box set. Not only is the remastering well done, but the packaging is wonderful and includes a hardback book with each volume — a guide to every episode in that set as well as tid-bits of info on characters and such. I particularly like this third volume as it contains three parts I really enjoy. First, we see Goku finally defeat Freeza after obtaining true Super Saiyan status. Second, Garlic Jr. comes back for revenge and a strange mist spreads over earth (I love those episodes so much! They're just so funny!). Third, Trunks makes an appearance for the first time to truly finish Freeza off in a way Goku's heart wouldn't allow. This of course is followed by the android saga, but this volume just begins that.

So much amazing and diverse action in this volume! The Freeza saga is just classic. Even semi-fans that never watched the whole series watched this part. Yes, it's a bit drawn-out, but you have to admit that the end is quite climactic. Though I, like many others, were yelling at Goku through the screen for not finishing Freeza (and assuming the explosion would take care of him). Freeza's brief reappearance on Earth with his father is very anti-climatic despite the terror felt by our heroes on Earth awaiting Goku's return. This ho-hum feeling is emphasized by Trunks quick and easy dispatch of them with minimal effort and collateral damage. Yes, it does make many of us instantly admire this mysterious boy, but it just deflates the struggle we just finished witnessing. Still, in the overall scheme it serves a great purpose!

My favorite part is the Garlic Jr. episodes mainly for the zombiefying, vampire-esque effects of the Aquamist. All who breathe it in become mindless monsters that bite others (who had not breathed the Aquamist) to infect them. What's even better is the question Gohan and we have of Piccolo's loyalty. He was bitten, but has he succumbed? Plus, Kami's battle with the ancestral guardians is impressive on physical and mental levels. These episodes are an invigorating change of pace from the longer sagas that surround it.

Don't miss this amazing box set! It really gives a broad range from the series and hits many high points!
