Slayers Special #3 finishes the story line from last issue with a battle royale and a trick ending that made me laugh hard because I simply did not see it coming. Then, Lina and Naga, our gluttonous girl sorceress swordspeople, go off to the beach, expecting sun, fun, and food. Instead, they have to do battle with a giant squid. Again, the story has a trick to the ending, but it's one that makes for a more satisfying story than before. I won't give it away, but it was a cute and funny ending.

Slayers is a manga/anime that is rapidly gaining a steadfast and loyal audience. I know, for instance, several manga tarts like the anime of the series. I too am rapidly becoming a fan of the manga series, as CPM Manga sent me enough review copies to firmly ground me in the basics of the world of Slayers. I'm definitely going to start looking for this comic in my local comic book shops. Next time I am in the mood for silly anime viewing, I am also going to remember Slayers.

This manga is fun, funny, and entertaining. While its humor is broad, most of it is suitable for all ages reading or viewing.

If you like your manga to be funny and farcical, you owe it to yourself to try out a couple of issues of Slayers.
