Translator: Mycheline Tremblay, Gary Plaxton, and Lisa Lumby Grade: 9 Volume two of Sailor Moon contains episodes seven through twelve, and believe me, a lot can happen in six episodes! Sailor Moon gains another ally in Sailor Mars, and the trio of heroines (Moon, Mercury, and Mars) defeat their first major enemy.
Sailor Moon teaches moral lessons, learned from trial and error and her own faults. Every episode ends with a lesson learned that can also apply to the young girls watching the show. This works because Serena faces the same problems other 14-year old girls face (aside from the powers). The biggest thing they have to learn? How to put aside their differences (and rivalries for Tuxedo Mask) and learn to work together. And this was a challenge for them all because they are not a different person when they transform into Sailor Soldiers (er, Scouts); they are still ordinary girls that must learn to cope with life, let alone the Negaverse.
Sailor Moon is an awesome series that girls (and boys) of all ages can and do enjoy. The beginning of this series and the formation of the Sailor team should not be forgotten as the series continues. Remember why you fell in love with all of the characters and watch the series from the beginning.
