Translator: Grade: 7 Kentaro Oe is the ultimate genius at large, or he would be if he could take his eyes off of girls. He's 25 and a law school drop-out - he learned it all - so now he job-hops learning about life. Everything is "very educational," and he keeps track of it all in his notebook. In these three episodes, Kentaro shows up the president of an all-female computer software company, beats a daddy's girl at her own game, and defends the virtue of a noodle-maker's daughter.
Kentaro seems to have the fantasy life of the average guy, job-hopping across Japan while getting up-close and personal with some real babes. Guys cheer him on, while girls just want to shake their heads and say "typical." And yet, he really is out to learn all he can; even though he becomes infatuated with every girl (or every set of boobs) he sees, he knows there are more important things - though this might be doubtful when you see him hug a girl's toilet.
Golden Boy is a hilarious series that both sexes will enjoy. Both the subbed and dubbed versions are well-voiced; both of Kentaro's voice actors really convey his thoughts and personality through his voice - it's wonderful. The animation is well-done with serious and ridiculous faces. It switches back and forth so often and so easily that both times are amusing. If you're looking for a good laugh and you don't mind a whole lot of gratuitous boob shots, Golden Boy is worth checking out.
