Luffy and his Straw Hat crew are traveling underwater in an air bubble-encased ship. After dodging a number of hazards (avalanche, bad guys, large fish), they wind up in the fabled underwater kingdom of Fish-land. No sooner than they arrive, they get entangled in plot against the ruler of Fish-land, stumble upon an imprisoned mermaid princess and have multiple groups of enemies descending on Fish-land, vowing to destroy it and the Straw Hat gang.

I was never a big fan of the characters and art of One Piece and this volume hasn't changed my mind. What has changed is that I could follow what was happening pretty well and I was actually engaged in the plot! It was somewhat convoluted, but not too hard to follow and it was interesting to me. For the first time in reading several volumes of One Piece, I'm actually curious about what will happen next.
