Minoo Shirazi is a young Iranian woman. The story is set in two different time periods: Ancient Persia and Modern-day Iran.

In the past, Minoo has returned home after returning a stolen holy book to a temple. She has a frightening, prophetic dream one night. After telling her male partner, Tyler, about the nightmare, she insists they return to the temple, and finds the temple burning and the priest there wounded and dying. The priests pleads with Minoo to go to Persepolis to learn the truth and find her destiny. Minoo dismisses this, until she finds herself faced with enormous half eagle, half horse creature.

In the present day, Minoo gets into a big arguement with her father over the oppressive nature of her life and accuses him of being party to it. She wants more freedom in her life and is angry when her father tosses out a potential boyfriend and lectures her on the dangers faced by women in her life.

The art, characters and story are as great as in the first issue. I'm also happy that the lackluster dialogue in the story set in the past has been much improved. It doesn't feel nearly as clichéd. However that is slightly offset by the familiar language of a young, free-spiriting woman and her loving, but perhaps overly protective father. Both stories in the past and the present are interesting and compelling, and I sure do want to find out what happens next.
