Norman is a odd 10 year old boy. Born with the ability to see and talk to ghosts, a talent that has ostracized him from family and friends. Constant torment from a local bully just adds to his daily torment. Norman is visited one day by the ghost of his crazy uncle, Prenderghast, who tells him he is the only one who can stop a witch's curse from raising zombies to terrorize his town of Blithe Hollow. When he fails and the zombies attack, Norman was must figure out a way to stop the zombies.

I enjoyed ParaNorman quite a bit. At the beginning it didn't seem too promising. A morose, loner of a boy with a well-meaning but clueless parents and vapid sister seem straight out of Cliches-R-Us. The overweight sidekick and big, dumb bully didn't help that impression either. When Norman fails with his first try, and the zombies attack, things start getting a lot better and a lot fun. Norman finds himself fighting the townsfolk as much as the zombies.

The the paths the movie takes to move the story along pleased me a lot and the resolution was very satisfying.
