The Horror Show is great horror-fluff. If you like shows like Scare Tactics but wish that the pranksters could get pranked, then you'll love this comic. That's exactly the premise, with the twist involving a real monster. It's a short read done in black, white, gray, and blood. And best of all, it's free! You can check out this 16-page comic (and you definitely should) on Broken Icon's site here.
The art is great, with the people looking realistic, giving the read more of a horror vibe. The monster design is simple, but scary. I like that the monster can transform at will, including partially, and is aware and rational in both forms (rather than just primal as a monster). I also love that the guy runs into the closet to transform. We don't know it's coming, and that's great! The pacing and order of the story is excellent. I especially like the "just pause right there" part that takes us back to see that this zombie attack is a scare prank. The art is great, and the coloring really works for this story. The blood is also done right and not just a splatter-fest, despite there being a lot of it. It's also appropriately muted so that it doesn't look garish next to the almost-pencil-shading grays of the rest of the art. The people are realistic, with no wonky anatomy issues. The monster design is simple enough to be scary-real. This comics gets an A+ on concept and execution.
