Spider-Girl goes up against her first cosmic-powered villain: Apox, the Omega Skrull. Even with the help of her super-powered friends and family, can May beat this monster? All right! I got that battle I asked for in my last review. Hooray for me! This issue was great. While I never minded the subplots as much as others seemed to, I did miss the days when the fights with the villain of the piece was the main focus. I'm glad to see an issue like that again; it couldn't have come at a better time.
Speaking of the fight, I loved it! Spider-Girl may have botched the fight with the Faces, but here she came out on top once again. And how about her making jokes during the fight? It seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Plus, her jokes were funny. When is that Harry Potter book coming out?
Also, although some will disagree with me, I liked and had no problem with Felicia's revelation. (Even though I was hoping that if anyone was a lesbian, it would be Felicity. I mean, the way she drools over May ....) Some say this goes against her character, being that she was so enamoured with Spider-Man for so long. I disagree. Felicia seems like an open type of woman and she never says in this comic that she doesn't like men ....
I'm almost done, but I just want to say ... gosh, I loved that ending! It sucks when your Dad walks in on the perfect moment.
This was a great, great issue and I look forward to the next. Kaine and Alison Mongrain? Hooray!
