Gabriel and friends gain a new companion while Dominika turns up the heat.

The white space on the cover makes it seem a bit sparse. On the other hand, Dominika is definitely creepy … but she makes Saint Peter look out-of-place since he doesn't come off nearly as sinister as she does. The first page in the comic with Dominika is also a small let down. It's a mix of having presence and not having presence. Her arms-crossed posture looks oddly stiff and unconnected to the room. However, other than that one panel, all her body mechanics are good and her poses are interesting and make sense with what's going on. I especially like when she leans forward with her finger on her chin. But that final panel, with her teeth showing, is just weird and kind of creepy – I'm not exactly sure what emotion she's trying to express, though I could hazard a guess from what she says and what we've seen in flashbacks in this issue. The next time she appears, she's got a presence again and a visible sinister edge that matches her words.

I love Whispers' expression after Tym, the talking rat, informs him quite bluntly that they aren't related. That one wordless panel makes the whole thing funny! I love that the marriage options Gabriel's mom had were choosing between a brother and a sister, and there's a nice little reply from Tym about the gender hang-ups of this world. Stacey, the girl who shot Gabriel, has another role to play, and I was surprised in many ways, all good. G.O.D.D. also has a larger role to play, and while I was less surprised to see them, I was surprised at what they were doing. The battle has one panel that seems a tiny bit lifeless with The Alchemist walking without any energy towards his opponent … right before an awesome and creative battle panel! It's my favorite panel in this issue, and you'll just have to read it to see it for yourselves. The next couple panels after it are exciting and explosive – literally! It even ends with a bang!

While this issue has a few issue, they are more towards the beginning, and, really, they are small things. I still wish the beginning was a little better to make the whole read more enjoyable, but the last half of the comic is fantastic! Relationships, plot, action, and explosions, all happening together in a way that's entertaining and enticing. (I also love preview sketch of the robeartopus at the end.)
