Sabrina has been a popular character since she appeared in the Archie comics and has been adapted in many forms, with Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch being the latest iteration.

In this computer-generated series, Sabrina is one of the most powerful witches in the magic realm, but is just another teenager in the human world. Zelda, Hilda, Salem and Harvey are all in there in their typical roles.

I was interested to see what the creator's take is on this character, and after the first episode, I'm still not sure what they have in mind. Like in other versions, most of the plot revolves around wacky magic hijinks: magic infused clothes, werewolves, and Sabrina fending off an annoying teenaged warlock. What I found most challenging was just simply keeping track of all the threads. They managed to cram what felt like seasons-long plots into a 20-minute episode. It was difficult to get more than just a brief sense of any of the characters, including Sabrina herself. While I am already familiar with them, you barely got any sense of what they are like in the show.

This show does show promise however, if they just let the characters and plots settle down and breathe for a bit.
