Lucy is the daughter of a chef and gourment and recounts her love of food growing up in the countryside of New York and later Chicago. Interspersed with Lucy's culinary adventures are recipes done in pictures.

I got hungry reading through this graphic novel. Lucy's tales of growing up in the kitchen and helping her mother at the farmers market and catering business made me drool with every page.

I loved the stories about her childhood trip to a small Mexican town, her recounting of eating divine croissants in Italy and week-look stay in Japan. And this is all done without any kind of condescension. She writes and draws all this without pretension, just conveying just how wonderful making and eating food is.

An excellent memoir that pleasing to the eye as well as the stomach.
