Adam and Eve are a centuries-old vampire couple. Eve lives in Tangiers and lives surrounded by books. Adam is a musician who lives in isolation in Detroit, surrounded by guitars, composing music. When Eve calls Adam and discovers he is in a depressive funk, she flies to Detroit to cheer him up. Their days together are interrupted by the arrival of Ava, Eve's sister, who brings nothing but trouble.

This is long, langorous movie. What little plot there is in this movie goes very slowly. This movie is built more for atmosphere and looks than any other I've seen in years. Everything is visually striking, from the lighting, the settings, the colors, to even the actors themselves.

Tom Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton are well known for their odd roles, and they are in perfect form here. They very much embody vampires who have been around for centuries with a very cool and remote attitude about the world around them, and yet there is an air of concern about their situation. Mia plays up the impulsive Ava very well and you just know she will do something stupid.

This a very arty movie, and if you are in the mood for it, nothing is better.
